Atlantic Offshore has awarded Kleven Maritime a contract to build two new PSV vessels with VS 485 MKIII L design.  The total contract value is nearly NOK 700 million. The vessels are designed by Wartsila.

Kleven Maritime’s Myklebust Yard will deliver the vessels in 2014. The ships are more than 90 meters in length and have a load area of over 1000 square meters. Both new buildings will be operating in the North Sea for Statoil. In addition to the two newbuildings, an option for a third PSV newbuilding has been secured with Kleven Maritime.

 – In the selection of yard, we have placed considerable emphasis on quality and competitive terms. Kleven Maritime has built more ships with the same design, and is the shipyard that has built most ships with the Wartsila design, says Atlantic Offshore’s CEO Roy Wareberg.
The vessels are equipped with the latest in technological installations, and meet all certification classes defined by Statoil, and also rigorous and comprehensive environmental regulations for offshore operations. In 2012, Atlantic Offshore will take delivery of three new buildings.
– A modern fleet positions us further in our market, both nationally and internationally. New ships have become a competitive advantage, Wareberg continues.
