October 2008: Sartor Offshore AS have ordered two VS465 newbuilds.The vessels have been ordered at Wison Heavy Industry shipyard in Nantong, China for delivery 4Q 2010 and 2Q 2011. The vessels are designed by Vik & Sandvik, and is of the VS465 type. They are engineered to undertake a magnitude of offshore support duties (dpII, such as supply and ROV duties (DP II), standby rescue duties (NOR,UK,DK and NL), Firefighting duties (FiFiII), oil recovery duties (NOFO 2008), tanker assist duties (100 t.b.p.) and Surface Surveillence. Sartor have put emphasize on low consumption and low emission by using hybride propulsion systems (fully) and the vessels will be built in accordance with Clean Ship Super class . They are further built in accordance with Comfort class in order to achieve the best possible working environment for the crews. The first newbuild has been awarded a long term contract with Gaz de France Norway (GdFN), in support of the Gjøa field when GdFN take over operatorship from Statoil in 2010. Sartor Offshore AS have options for further newbuilds at the yard.
